Teaching

From the teacher...

I strongly believe in the power of music education and its positive impact on creative and intellectual growth.  Learning the cello is a great way for people of any age to come in contact with a beautiful instrument while building discipline, creativity, and most importantly, a love of music.

Who do I teach?

Any one age 3 or older.  Learning to play the cello isn't just for children, I teach adults as well. Lessons are tailored to the age and individual needs of the student.

What is the Suzuki Method?

The Suzuki method is a way of learning music based on the theory that music should be taught like a language.  This method was developed by pedagogue and violinist, Shinichi Suzuki and emphasizes listening, parental involvement, and positive encouragement.  Today, the Suzuki method is widely used throughout the United in the States.  I use the Suzuki method with all of my young students so they can benefit from it's effective teaching and connect with other cello students outside of my studio.

Where is the studio located?

My home studio is located near the intersection of Colesville Road and Sligo Creek Parkway and is easily accessible from Exit 30 on the Capital Beltway.
